As the days get shorter and cooler, everyone finds themselves looking for a new binge-worthy tv series and we have a list that will please all types of western fans

Branching out from my previous list of what to watch for rodeo fans, I've compiled a few more that may appeal to lovers of the Western lifestyle.

Crime, Justice, and the Law

Lawmen: Bass Reeves

Another series from Taylor Sheridan, this one follows the life of Bass Reeves. One of the first Black Deputy U.S. Marshals west of the Mississippi River, Reeves is a popular figure in Western history. It can be watched on Paramount+.

Longmire

With six seasons, Longmire tells the modern day tale of Sheriff Walt Longmire in Absaroka County, Wyoming. Based on the series of novels by Craig Johnson, the television series began on A&E network. Netflix later picked up the show, finishing out the series. It is available to watch on Netflix and Peacock.

Joe Pickett

A Paramount Plus Original, Joe Pickett is based on another series of Wyoming-centered novels by C.J. Box. The show has two seasons that follow the journey of modern game warden, Joe Pickett. The show is available on Paramount Plus.

Justified

Justified is the story of Raylan Givens, a U.S. Marshal. Based in Kentucky, Givens battles drug dealers and criminals with an Old West style and charm. All six seasons are available on Hulu.

The Old West

Deadwood

An HBO series, Deadwood follows the adventures of the infamous individuals living in the South Dakota town in the late 1800s. All three seasons are available to watch on HBO Max.

Billy the Kid

With three seasons and running, the MGM Plus series is about, you guessed it - Billy the Kid. Available on FreeVee and MGM Plus, you can immerse yourself in the adventures of one of the most infamous outlaws of the American West.

Frontier

Based on the North American fur trade in the late 1700s/early 1800s, Frontier has three seasons. The show follows the jounrey of Declan Harp, a half-Irish, half-Cree outlaw played by Jason Momoa. You can check it out on Netflix.

Hell On Wheels

The AMC series about the construction of the first transcontinental railroad across the United States, Hell on Wheels tells the story of Cullen Bohannon, a former Confederate soldier. With baggage of his own from the past, Bohannon and an eclectic cast of characters venture into the Wild West. You can check this one out on FreeVee, Tubi, or AMC+.

Elkhorn

Based on the life of young Theodore Roosevelt as he leaves New York for the Dakotas, the one season show details some of the early days of cattlemen in the American West. Elkhorn is available for free on Tubi and Plex.
