AMC is not done with Dark Winds just yet. As we predicted, Dark Winds has so much material to use for future seasons of the series that was derived from the Tony Hillerman novels surrounding the lives of Jim Chee and Joe Leaphorn. It is apparent that AMC is inclined to agree and renewed the hit series for a third season.
Because of the strike, many shows have been put on the back burner and Dark Winds is no different. The series based in New Mexico will be airing sometime in 2025. The news came from Variety and fans couldn’t be happier that the wind is not out of the sails yet.
The news comes as no surprise to most of us. This is a series that has only gained popularity and success as it has gone on which has been proven in the ratings. I don’t believe Dark Winds has even hit the pinnacle of its success yet. Though it is going to be a while before Kiowa Gordon and Zahn McClarnon grace our screens again this is great news for fans to look forward to. Season 2 of Dark Winds averaged 1.7 million in viewership which is a fantastic feat because they were not able to promote the show like they would have liked.
If you haven’t had enough of Dark Winds yet you can head over to HBO Max and catch Dark Winds along with a few other AMC programs.
"We started this journey with very high hopes for the series, given the remarkable source material and extraordinary creative team behind it, and it has delivered on every level."Dan McDermott AMC
This is also a series that is made up of 90 percent Native American from the cast and the crew. Not to mention the glorious imagery of New Mexico. Dark Winds holds not only the best acting AMC has to offer but also the best cinematography. And there is nothing like the main cast who we hope to see on our screens for years to come.
If you missed some episodes head over to Max and catch up on the latest that Dark Winds has to offer. If you are new to the program hop on board you won’t regret it for a moment.
