At Sunday’s Critics Choice Awards, Harrison Ford was honored with the Career Achievement Critics Award, an award designed to celebrate his decades as a leading man in American film with his films having grossed over 5 billion dollars. This of course isn’t his first nor last lifetime achievement award for Ford, but he was humble and modest thanking everyone who has helped him along the way. Grateful was an understatement with Ford, and he’s not done yet.
"I’m here because of a combination of luck and the work of wonderful writers, directors, and filmmakers. I feel enormously lucky. I’m happy for this honor, and I appreciate it very much. I want to thank my lovely wife, Calista Flockhart, who supports me when I need a lot of support."Harrison Ford
Ford kept his speech short but ended things on a lovely sentiment:
"I’m really happy to be here tonight to see what our business is turning into, and all the talented people who are getting opportunities that probably would not have existed in the early part of my career. I’m very happy about that."Harrison Ford
Harrison is most notably known for his roles in Indiana Jones, Han Solo in Star Wars, American Graffiti, Blade Runner, Patriot Games, and Witness which he was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. We also can’t forget his work in The Fugitive and Air Force One. And those are only a few big hits of his extensively successful career.
Along with acting, he is vice-chair of Conversation International, a nonprofit environmental organization in Virginia that protects nature. Not only does he make his mark in the entertainment industry but he also has done a lot to help change the world for the better.
Harrison Ford currently plays the patriarch Jacob Dutton in 1923. The hit show in the Yellowstone universe is currently working on its second season after the writers' strike. He works alongside his co-star and on-screen wife Helen Mirren. Together they share a super couple kind of epic relationship that is highlighted in the Yellowstone spinoff.
The entertainment business has come a very long way and Harrison had a lot of pride to see all the diversity. His wife since 2010, Calista Flockhart watched her husband in happy tears. Be sure to catch Harrison Ford later on this year to possibly 2025 as Jacob Dutton in 1923.
