A Haunting in Venice premieres this Friday in theaters giving us the chance to see Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly in a whole new type of role!
A Haunting in Venice is a supernatural mystery directed by Kenneth Branagh and stars Kyle Allen, Kenneth Branagh, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Ali Kahn, Emma Laird, Ricardo Scamarcio, our own Kelly Reilly, and the ever-so fabulous Michelle Yeoh.
A Haunting in Venice is based on Agatha Christie’s Halloween Party. The story takes place in post-World War 2 in Venice. Hercule Poirot must come out of retirement to solve the murder of a guest at a seance he reluctantly attended.
Kelly Reilly plays a retired opera singer who is the one holding the seance with the hopes of speaking to her daughter who died a year ago, as revealed by Collider. Director Kenneth Branagh says Kelly plays a complex character that Kelly brings to life with such delicacy.
The premise of the movie sounds heartbreaking between Poirot and Rowena. Both have pretty much given up on life and the one thing that gave them joy. When the child’s spirit makes herself known, something happens that nobody saw coming. The real killer is revealed to be in the room with them, which adds to the mystery.
This will be a great film to take your family or best friend to. There’s nothing quite like a riveting murder mystery to make educated guesses on and see who comes out right in the end. It's also a very unique role for Reilly and I for one can’t wait to see what she brings to the table.
Reilly promises that it will feel a little edgier and darker than most murder mysteries. There is an intensity to it that she loves. Worlds apart from Beth Dutton who may never become a mother and fights back against life twice as hard as the bad hands thrown at her.
A Haunting in Venice is in theaters this Friday and if the intriguing plot isn’t enough for you this all-star cast is sure to be reason enough to purchase tickets for. Having the Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh along with Reilly is a masterclass of stellar acting that most directors dream of. Which member of this jam-packed cast will portray the killer? Go to your local theaters and find out!
