Yellowstone takes center stage on CBS this Sunday
By Shay McBryde
The SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes are still going on so that means the filming for the last half of Yellowstone is on hold. Paramount has already announced that this would be the final season of one of the biggest shows on television. Filming will commence just as soon as agreements are met with the strike but in the meantime, fans can relish in the opportunity to watch Yellowstone from the start.
Fall is just around the corner and you know what that means, fall scheduling. Normally we would have brand new seasons to look forward to but amid the strike, CBS has instead brought over some programs from Paramount to fill their fall schedule.
Yellowstone will appear on the national network directly after 60 Minutes this Sunday at 8:30 p.m. EST following the 56th season premiere of 60 Minutes which hairs an hour earlier.
On NFL single-header nights Yellowstone will premiere at 8 p.m. and follow up with another episode at 9 p.m. followed by Big Brother at the 10 p.m. time slot on CBS. On double-header nights of the NFL Yellowstone will be airing at 9 p.m. following the NFL and 60 Minutes.
The Yellowstone season one premiere quickly introduces John Dutton, who must euthanize an injured horse after an unforeseen accident. Soon we meet his legal-driven son Jamie, who gets his father out of his legal jam by putting his Ivy League education to the test. We meet a young buck named Jimmy who is in hot water, but due to a promise John made he brings him on to the ranch. And we also meet John’s third child Kayce, who lives on an Indian reservation with his family. When Dutton cattle find themselves on Native American land a confrontation is inevitable. And it results in tragedy.
The original air date of "Daybreak" was June 20, 2018, and even though 5 years have passed this episode stands tall as an action-packed tale of love and family highlighting the lengths one family goes to protect it. Yellowstone will capture the audience from day one just like it did half a decade ago.
Tune in this Sunday, Sept. 17 to see these events of Yellowstone unfold and find out the story of how they got to this place.
